Vox Eminor has taken out the inaugural season of the CyberGamer Premier League after defeating Athletico on two close maps 19-17 on de_train_se and 16-12 on de_inferno_ce. Vox Eminor will walk away with $5000 in cash and the crown of CGPL Season 1 champions.

Season 1 of the CGPL was heralded as the first real major tournament on Australia's CS:GO calendar and with most of the big teams managing to come through the season. It was the showdown to establish how teams stacked up against each other in tournament conditions and most of the results went as expected.

Just as the seeds suggested the top two teams ended up reaching the final, but an interesting map veto left the teams to fight it out on the lesser played de_train_se. On a match fueled with passion the event looked likely to boil-over with both teams giving it everything they had. The match eventually went into overtime where Vox Eminor showed their experience in LAN finals and took it out on a very close 19-17 scoreline.

De_inferno_ce gave both teams an opportunity to reset and play a tactical game, however the first map had taken the wind out of Athletico's sail and they failed to put enough pressure on Vox Eminor to mount a challenge for the second map. Vox Eminor took the map and the championship 16-12.
